Healthy Low Calorie and Low Fat Pork Autumn Stew Recipe Hmm, Hmm Good!

There's nothing like some good old nutritious stew to warm the belly. Experimenting with food makes it more enjoyable and fun. My family and I enjoyed this stew so much it's one of the family favorites. It's healthy and nutritious and good for the soul.

You Will Need:

1- Medium Bell pepper cut into coarse pieces or however you like.

A whole cabbage cut into coarse pieces

1 or 1 1/2 cup of chicken broth

1pound of lean cut up pork meat or you can buy some boneless pork chops and slice them into cubes

2 medium sweet potatoes cut into cubes

2 garlic cloves finely chopped

1tbsp of onion powder

1tbsp of Cajun seasoning

In a medium or large pot spray the pot with some cooking spray, I'd perfer olive oil spray. Cook the pork meat until brown on high or medium heat. Stir occasionally.

Add all of the ingredients into the pot and stir. Cook until the potatoes are tender. If you don't want your cabbage too crunchy, let it cook a little longer.

My Delicious And Nutritious Red Potato, Zucchini And Mushroom Recipe! Great Side Dish For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a day for sharing and being thankful for what you have and what better way to be grateful than by sitting a table full of good food. My red potato, zucchini and mushroom recipe is my favorite. I have not been making it that long, it was something I just threw together. I love this recipe not because it's delicious but because it's nutritious and fulfilling. You can eat it by itself or with your favorite meat.

You will need;

5 red potatoes peeled or not peeled.
3- Large zucchini peeled or not peeled
1 pack of mushrooms already sliced
3 cloves of garlic
11/2 tsp of salt
1/3 slice of a red onion
1 TBSP of olive oil or margarine
1 Large skillet
2-cups of water

First add the two cups of water to the skillet and turn the top of the stove on high, just until the water starts boiling. While the water is getting ready start slicing the potatoes into the shape of chips, but thicker. If you prefer to peel them you can do that. Rinse the potatoes once you are done slicing them and add them to the water with the salt and olive oil. Once the water starts boiling turn down the stove to medium and put the top on the skillet.

While the potatoes are cooking rinse off the zucchini if you are not going to peel them, if you are you do not have to rinse them. Slice them the same way you did the potatoes. Don't add the zucchini until the potatoes are half way done. Let the potatoes cook for at least 10 minutes before adding the zucchini because you don't want it to overcook unless you prefer it that way. Stir occasionally. When the potatoes are half ready add the onions, garlic, zucchini and mushrooms. Make sure you rinse the mushrooms before adding them to the skillet.

Let the dish simmer for another 10 or until the zucchini is tender, but still has a little bit of a crunch to it. Stir occasionally. Add more water if needed, make sure it's not soupy. You can cook it longer if you like. This recipe should feed 5 people and it takes about 30 minutes to prepare and cook.

Getting in shape can be hard for those of you who you who have never worked out. My biggest problem when it came to working out was getting my thighs toned. With a lot of work and practice I have found a solution for me maybe, it can work for you too.

I have always been active since I was little my mom was an active woman. As I got older and pregnant, my body did not quite look the same anymore. It was not too bad, it just I did not look the way I wanted it to look. I started working out and I got back in shape. I am a full figure woman, but just because I am, does not mean I cannot look good and be in good shape. My main problem when it came to getting in shape was trying to shape up my thighs. I lost weight and I was firming up all over my body except for my thighs. With a lot of hard work, I finally found a solution to getting those tight and smooth eye catching thighs.

Squats are one of the best ways to getting those firm legs. It also helps tighten the muscles in your buttocks, start with about 25 squats a day. Stand with your feet shoulder length apart looking straight ahead arms on your hips. Push yourself down with your butt almost touching the floor while holding in your stomach. This is a good way to work that abs. If you cannot go that far go down as far as you comfortably can. Rise up slowly and release your abs, then exhale slowly. You can rest after 12 reps and finish the rest if you cannot do the whole 25 at one time. I have worked my self up to doing 50 of them; try to do these three-fives times a week.

Lounges are my favorite they work your legs, butt and hips. Stand with your feet shoulder length apart looking straight ahead. Step with the right leg in front of you and the left in the back. Slowly bend the right leg forward, inhale going down and exhale coming up. Rise up and put the right leg back in its position with the legs shoulder length apart. Put the left leg in front of you and bend down with the left leg. Rise back up with the left leg in the position it was in before, shoulder length apart. Repeat this position until you have done 25 of them, if you cannot do 25 then do how many you can and work your way up. When doing this position make sure your balance is right, you can hurt your knee or ankle if you do it wrong. Add 5lb weights to advance it. Do arm curls as you go down, do as many as your body let you do. Don’t over do it, try to do this about three- five times a week.

Jogging, try to run about 10-20 minutes a day, if you are an outdoor person. Work your way up until you can jog for about 30 minutes to an hour a day, for three or five times a week. Make sure you have good running shoes it is very important when it comes to being comfortable and supporting your legs.

Elliptical or Treadmill, ride for 20 to 30 minutes a day. Try to ride about three to five days a week. Start slow, you do not want to do too much at one time. Just gradually work yourself up to an hour if you want doing 30 minutes is fine.

This is what worked for me and is still working for me. You can figure out what days you want to do which exercises or combine them in a week’s time, whatever works for you. I am looking good and you can too. Also, watch out for what you eat, tries eating foods with more water for fullness. Eat more fiber and less fat and cholesterol. Make sure you do not lack in nutrition it is very important in maintaining good health and energy.

Tip: if you sit at your desk for hours at a time. Take a few minutes to do squats to stretch and keep your legs in shape. Between 10 to 30 at least twice a day. Break it into small sessions.

Vanishing Belly Fat

After having kids I’ve been struggling with the battle of losing belly fat for years. Ok, maybe I’ve been struggling because I never really did anything to try to lose it. I knew it just wasn’t going to go away on it own, if I ask for one miracle this would be it, but unfortunately I’m not that lucky. We all know that in order to lose the extra fat you have to move around a little and hard as it is, you have to change your diet.

I got tired of wearing my favorite jeans without wearing them with a tight cute tee and holding my belly in just to button them up and then I had to zip them too. Holding your breath isn’t easy while trying to get into those jeans. I was getting older and I was just tired of covering up my ugly belly fat, I had to make a change.

Now what I’m about to tell you works for me, it might not work for everyone, but this is how I lost my stomach and I’m still losing it. My pants are much looser and I’m so comfortable wearing them that it inspires me more to get to my goals.

My number one way of getting rid of belly fat is walking. If you’ve read a few of my articles you will see that I mention walking in some of them. I love walking it’s so relaxing and so invigorating. As you walk you are constantly moving your hips and stomach. Constant movement like that leads to high heart rate, a boost in your metabolism which leads to sweat and burned calories. I walk at least three- four days a week, start off with doing 20 minute walks and work your way up to 40 minutes. One other thing when walking wear a stomach belt it will help you melt that ugly fat away much quicker.

I particularly don’t care for crunches, but I do them anyway. They help tone the muscles inside of your stomach which gives you that sleek, sexy and flat board stomach look. There are many ways to get a flat belly. Another method is changing your eating habits. You know that you have to cut the fat and calories from your daily meals to achieve greater results. Add more veggies, fruits and whole grains to your dishes; getting your daily nutrition is very, very important.

Dancing, I love dancing you move your whole body when you dance and it is so much fun! Doing sexy dance moves which have you to move your hips and to twist is a very effective way of getting that extra baggage off. Check out some of the dance workout videos or if you know how to move that body, create your own workout dance routine. Layoff the beer and the liquor which can make your metabolism unstable and make absorb unwanted extra calories. If you smoke, then stop. Smoking does a great deal of harm to your body; it decreases your appetite, effects breathing, your heart etc. If you don’t eat right and can’t breathe right how are you going to find the energy and the breath to lose weight and exercise?

Go for more grilled foods; leave the greasy foods alone they mean you no good! When grilling, the fat from the foods drips into the grill and makes the meats you eat healthier. Some people tend to forget that the beverages you drink have calories, sugars and fat. So beware and watch the calories from your drinks. Last but not least, stress plays a big roll in weight gain and weight loss. Stress harms the body in many ways so try to stay stress free it will help the body function more properly.

Nice Summer Salad: Green Goddess Salad

Active time: 30 minutes/ Makes 4 servings

1/2 avocado, peeled and pitted
3/4 cup nonfat buttermilk
2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs, such as tarragon, sorrel and/or chives
2 teaspoons tarragon vinegar or white-wine vinegar
1 teaspoon anchovy paste or minced anchovy fillet
8 cupos bite-size pieces green leaf lettuce
12 ounces peeled and deveined cooked shrimp (21-25 per pound)
1/2 cucumber, sliced
1 cup canned chickpeas, rinsed
1cup rinsed and chopped canned artichoke hearts
1/2 cup chopped celery

1. Puree avocado, buttermilk, herbs, vinegar and anchovy in a blender until smooth.

2. Divide lettuce among 4 plates. Top with shrimp, cucumber, tomatoes, chickpeas, artichoke hearts and celery. Drizzle the dressing over the salads.

How To Eat Less To Lose Weight

If you are not into diet supplements & programs then these few tips should help you out. Not only does it work it's cheaper and easy to do. Losing weight can be a battle, but it doesn't have to be if you really want to decrease your weight. Lately I've been watching what I eat, eating smaller portions and eating more healthier foods. When I set my mind to eat I do it and I don't it with great results!

If you really want to lose weight, I congratulate you own your first step to achieving a healthier lifestyle. Here are a few tips that work for me and I hope they can be of some benefit to you.

Tip1: Drink a glass of water before each meal. It will help you eat less.

Tip2: Eat a salad before your meal lunch or dinner or both.

Tip3: Eat a fiber bar before a meal, I love Fiber One bars they are delicious and it helps to control your appetite.

Tip4: Willpower, you need it in order to succeed.

Tip5: Support from family & friends, stay around positive environment.

Tip6: Always give yourself a treat. Rewarding yourself will make it easier. Have your favorite snack or meal when u feel like you truly deserve it.

Tip7: Try to eat plenty of veggies and fruit. If you don't like either then drink a healthy nutritional juice supplement that gives you your daily nutrition.

Tip8: Exercise, Exercise, Exercise. You know that in order to lose weight more quickly you have to burn some calories. Always try to do something that will increase your metabolism.

On the show The Doctors a recent quote was made that some people think that if they eat late they will gain weight. When actually it's not about not about what time you eat it's what you eat and how much. So if you are eating a late night dinner it's ok as long as you watch the foods you eat and the quantity.

With summer here there are many individuals looking for ways to get in shape and lose weight.. Health is very important in getting the best out of your body. If your weight is interfering with your health then don't you think it's time for a change?

Even just the littlest of exercise would improve your health greatly. Start off by doing gardening, a few squats; even just 10 squat will increase your heart rate which will boost your metabolism so that you can burn calories. Walk for 30 minutes a day or doing plain old simple house work will help you burn calories. The thing is you have to move no matter what you are doing as long as you are active your are working your body.

The results of the study show that 577 adults with high blood glucose levels who followed a diet and exercise program over a six year period reduced the incidence of diabetes by 51 percent.

Lower Your Risk Of Breast Cancer By Eating Mushrooms!

Shrimp Scampi Fettuccine

You will need:

3/4 pound of uncooked shrimp. Peel and deveined also remove the tail.
4 ounces fettuccine
1 tablespoon of olive oil or vegetable oil.
1 medium green onion cut about a tablespoon.
1 clove garlic chopped finely.
2 teaspoons of chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil leaves
2 teaspoons of chopped fresh parsly or 3/4 teaspoon
1 tablespoon of Lemon juice
1/8 salt
Grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

1. Rinse shrimp with cold water, pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.

2. Cook and drain fettuccine as it says on the package. Keep warm.

3.While fettuccine is cooking, heat the oil in 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp, onion, garlic, basil, parsley, lemon juice and salt in oil 2 to 3 minutes, stir frequently. Just til shrimp are pink and firm ( do not overcook)
Remove skillet from heat.

4. Add fettuccine to skillet; toss fettuccine and shrimp mixture in skillet. Sprinkle with cheese.

Calories; 375, Calories from fat; 90; Fat 10g; Saturated fat 2g; cholesterol 290mg; Sodium; 440mg; Carbs; 38g; Dietary fiber; 2g; Protein 33g; Vitamin A 12%, Vitamin C 6%, Calcium 8%, Iron 36%.

Ovarian Cysts Side Effects & Symptoms

Ovarian cysts are sacs of fluid developed on a woman’s reproductive organs. Some cysts are not harmful and some are, they can threaten your health and you may not show any symptoms. Dermoid cysts: cysts that can also grow hair, teeth and a variety of other tissues, causing pain if they are particularly large.

Functional cysts: cysts filled with eggs that develop during menstruation and disappear once the eggs are released

Endometriomas: cysts that grow in or outside of the uterus, causing pain if they are particularly large

Polycystic ovaries: cysts filled with eggs that aren’t released and, instead, continue to grow.

The symptoms of Ovarian Cysts Are:

achiness in the in the back (especially the lower back) and upper legs

Breast tenderness

Irregular menstrual cycles

Nausea and/or vomiting

Painful sex

Pressure and/or pain in the abdomen

Pressure and/or pain on the bladder and/or rectum

problems passing urine

weight gain.

Swine Flu

The Swine Flu started from Mexico. 1600 cases have been reported in Mexico and 100 people have died from this flu. Cases have been reported in other states like Ohio, Texas, Kansas, California and New York.

Symptoms are similar to the flu. 36,000 people died last year from the flu alone. Scientists are in the mix of developing a vaccine for the Swine flu, they are hoping to have it within a few months. No cases have been reported in Illinois. If you have signs of the Swine flu see the doctor within 48 hours. If your children have flu like symptoms keep them home.

No deaths have been reported in Texas, Kansas, California and New York. Some have recovered without medication.

To keep from getting the flu, eat healthy, drink plenty of water and just take care of yourself.
