A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition discovered that drinking 3 glasses of milk a day may reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease by 18%.  In the Annals of Internal Medicine, it was found that the fatty acid contained in milk, cheese, yogurt and butter, may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. Researchers followed 3,736 participants for 20 years that had consumed milk and seen that they had healthier levels of blood cholesterol, insulin levels of blood and insulin sensitivity and a much lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Whole Grains

A study showed that those who cosumed more whole grains, the refined grains such as white pasta, white flour, rice and etc have less of a body fat called VAT. This is a fat linked to a higher risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. They did a dietary research on 2,800 men and women between the ages of 32 and 83 and discovered that eating more whole grains they had less VAT fat. Those who ate whole grains while still eating refined grains did not get as much benefits as they would have if they had just ate nothing but whole grain foods.
