Foods That Cure Yeast Infections

Yeast infection occur when fungus that usually lives in the vagina unexpectedly multiplies, causing itching, burning, and other annoying symptoms. A study was done at Long Island Jewish Medical Center suggests that eating live-culture yogurt, especially yogurt containing bacteria called Lactobacillus acidophilus, could help keep the fungus under control.

In a study 8 women ate yogurt for six months and the results were that the rate of yeast infection had dropped significantly. When told that they could stop eating the yogurt they had refused. It proved that this dairy product helps keeps the natural bacteria balanced, making it harder for the yeast fungus to thrive. Eating 1 cup of it a day will help prevent this infection, make sure that the yogurt has live cultures in it.

Garlic is another food that can prevent yeast infections. Garlic contains dozens of chemical compounds, among them ajoene, allicinalliin, and dially sulphide, which have proven power against fungal infections. In a laboratory study at Loma Linda University in California, animals were given a solution that contained aged garlic extract. These animals had yeast infection, two days later they were free of fungus.

Cure Yeast Infection Permanently

Garlic has been proven to destroy yeast infection on contact. In addition, it also appears to stimulate the activity of Europhiles and macrophages, immunes system cells that battle infection. This herb has lots of power, it even helps with high blood pressure and more! Fresh garlic is effective, says Dr. Reilly you can eat a bulb a day, it is best when it is sautéed, microwave or baked. It should be chopped to release the active compounds.

This type of medical condition can be caused by a large variety of things such as stress, medications, hormones, pregnancy, foods, diseases, not bathing and more! Most don’t care how they caught it they just want to know how to cure it, then worry about the causes later. To treat yeast infections you can also refer to over the counter fungal creams or go to your doctor for prescribe medicine.

Foods that have beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E can help prevent yeast infections. Researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx found that women with these yeast infections had significantly less beta-carotene in their vaginal cells than women without infections. Women with high levels of beta-carotene are resistant to fungus. And according to Dr. Reilly: “Vitamins C and E stimulates the immune system to activate specialized cells, which are the main defense against things like yeast”, he says.

You can receive Vitamin C through a variety of fruits and vegetables. Vitamin E is a bit harder to get. Vitamin E is found in many veggie oils, but you can get it through nuts, seeds and wheat germ to avoid the fat from oils.

Sugary foods are bad for your body, they also attract yeast infections. Research has shown that women who consume high levels of sugar, honey or molasses are more susceptible to yeast infections. According to Carolyn DeMarco, MD, a physician in Toronto and author of Take Change of Your Body: Women’s Health Advisor, says that even natural sugar that is in fruits can be a problem for some. She sometimes tell women to cut back on fruits and fruit juices completely to avoid the fungus.

Important Tip: If you are interrupted by constant yeast infections, switch to yogurts that are artificially sweetened. The yeast loves sugar!
