Eye Health: Tips For Strained Eyes

Sitting in front of the computer all day can be stressful on body posture and your eyes. The computer screen strains the pupils and dries them out which causes problems. If your job is to sit at your desk all day doing work on the PC then I’m pretty sure that during that time you feel some irritation towards your eyes.

Dry eyes can lead to poor vision, if you see a change in your eyesight such as blurry images seek your optometrist. Dry eyes can also cause eye infection, red and itchy eyes. When your eyes can’t produce enough tears this will cause the dry eye affect.

If you are constantly staring at the computer screen it overworks the eye muscles. Hear are some tips that will give you relief from your strained eyes.

Look away for a minute and gaze at anything. It does not matter as long as you are not looking at the screen.

Blink your eyes a couple of times while looking away so that your eyes can gain back it’s moisture.

Buy eye drops such as Visine to relieve the irritation. Be careful how often you use it because it can make the symptoms worse.

Get up and walk away for a moment to give your eyes a rest. If your eyes are tired you will begin to have headaches and sometimes your eyes will become jumpy as if your nerves are off.

If the over the counter eye drops are not effective enough, see your eye doctor for advice.

Carrots are loaded with beta-carotene which is good for maintaining healthy eyes.

Other things that can cause eye problems are aging, high blood pressure and diabetes. These two conditions can raise your eye pressure and can lead to glaucoma, poor vision, cataracts and loss of your sight if not treated. Make sure to visit your eye care professional at least once a year to maintain healthy eye function or to prevent certain eye conditions.

Don’t prolong going to see your doctor, if you think you need eye wear make sure you see your doctor. Waiting too long when it comes to getting glasses can worsen vision and make you strain your eyes.
